The Search for Life: Are We Alone? Premieres March 2nd
Academy Award-nominated actor Harrison Ford will narrate the American Museum of Natural History's thrilling new Space Show, The Search for Life: Are We Alone? which premieres at the Museum's Hayden Planetarium in the Rose Center for Earth and Space on March 2, 2002. With Ford as their guide, audiences will embark on a cosmic journey exploring a question that has always captivated the human imagination: Does life exist beyond Earth? Ford steers us from the oceans' depths to recently discovered "exoplanets"planets outside our solar systemthrough a scientifically accurate simulation of the birth of stars and planets, and even to the surface of Mars, which has been re-created from data collected by NASA's Pathfinder mission and is projected in a stunning 360° panorama on the Hayden Planetarium domeall on a quest for worlds that just might support life.

One of Hollywood's most popular leading men for over four decades, Ford has garnered innumerable awards, most recently the Golden Globes' Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. Ford has appeared in 27 films, including Star Wars, Fugitive, Air Force One, Apocalypse Now, What Lies Beneath, and the Indiana Jones film saga, which is said to be loosely based on the adventures of famed American Museum of Natural History dinosaur hunter Roy Chapman Andrews.
The Search for Life: Are We Alone? written by Ann Druyan and Steven Soter with a score by Stephen Endelman, follows Passport to the Universe, the Hayden Planetarium's highly acclaimed and enormously popular inaugural Space Show, narrated by Tom Hanks, which has been seen by millions of visitors since it premiered in 2000.
The Museum's suggested admission prices are as follows:
Adults: $19
Children (2-12): $10.50
Seniors/Students with ID: $14.50
Adult Members: Free
Child Members: Free
Suggested General Admission, which supports the Museum's scientific and educational endeavors, includes admission to all 45 Museum halls and the Rose Center for Earth and Space. Should you wish to pay less than the suggested admission, you may do so by purchasing tickets at any admissions desk at the Museum.
